How To Adopt

All Things Pups Rescue can only adopt out to residents of California at this time.

Our dogs reside in foster homes across Southern California.

Step One: Application

Get started by filling out our online adoption application. Adoption coordinators process applications and reply to applicants within 48 hours of submission (Please note that our staff does not work on Sundays so that may delay processing).  If renting, we send applications to the rental office/landlord to ensure approval of the adoption request and also check the pet limit.  Your application shows that you are truly interested in meeting an animal; it is not a binding contract.  If you’d like to add other dogs to your application, then email the adoption coordinators directly: adoptions@allthingspupsrescue.org so your information can be updated.

Step Two: Home Visit & Veterinary Checks

If chosen to adopt, then a home visit will be conducted by the foster family or one of our home visit volunteers. At the same time, a veterinary check will be done (if applicable) to ensure adopter’s current pets are up-to-date on rabies and distemper/parvo vaccinations and are spayed/neutered. To help expedite the process, please contact your vet and give consent to release records.

Step Three: Meet & Greet

The foster reviews applications and if a good fit, schedules a “meet and greet.” This meeting could take place at an adoption event, our office, or at a home.  Keep in mind, the foster may be meeting with multiple applicants depending on interest. The meet & greet is to ensure that you and the dog you’ve selected are a good match. During this process, you will have ample time to ask questions and bond with your potential new family member.

Step Four: Contracts & Payment

Once the home visit is approved, the adoption coordinators request payment and send the electronic adoption contract to be signed.

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip implant, de-worming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm test (for dogs and puppies over nine months), and age-appropriate rabies/distemper vaccinations. The adoption fee for each animal can be found on their individual website listing. *Adoption fees are non-negotiable.

Step Five: Pick Up

The adoption confirmation email will be sent when everything is completed and approved for an adoption.  The foster will contact the adopter at this time to coordinate pick up of their new pet!
